the summer days i remember

i love innocent childhood moments. those wonderful pastimes that will always be nostalgic to me. seeing my kids and niece/ nephew drink from the hose always brings me to a wonderful place in my memory. being sun-drenched and full of life. being giggly and giddy over water and play. full of endless energy.  running around the house (literally), with no intentions, but just for laughs. i wish sometimes doing these things as an adult felt the same. they don't. but i still love stirring up those wonderfully, remembered moments. even more, i love watching my children create those moments in their own lives. i sometimes forget that things as simple as drinking from the hose are just as wonderful as creating full blown adventures. sometimes it is those basic and simple things that we recall best as adults. or maybe it is just that i am sun-stricken and in love with summer so i am making all this up. who knows. all i do know, is that you can't beat the turn-of-events when nana turns the hose on everyone and we all have to run for cover unexpectedly. that still gets me every time. even as an adult!
