apples!

apples!!! we made it out to one of our beloved MN orchards this past weekend with my brother-in-law and his precious family. it was such a gorgeous day even though there weren't any apples to be picked.  say what???? i know... despite the lack of apple eating we had a great time riding ponies, playing on hay barrels, riding the cow train, and pretending to pick apples. my niece emma was our honorary pirate in her little leggings and they couldn't have been any cuter hanging out of her baby bjorn (which explains why she isn't in many photos - she was tucked up close to mommy all day). andy and i are both close to our families and we are so blessed to get to share so many wonderful memories (and good laughs) with them!

i was a little upset (and really crabby) that the april frost killed off most of the pickings. you don't tease a pregnant lady at an orchard with false hope of eating freshly plucked apples. no apples also meant no apple crisp. not cool. pregnant lady remember??? i am pretty sure i will dream of apple crisp until someone offers to bring me some...

rowan was scoping out the pumpkins and gourds, we can't wait to go back and grab some to carve in a few months. i am just itching for fall! leaves turning and sweaters bundled up around our bodies... i just can't help myself i am a true midwest girl!

Your kids are really beautiful! I especially like the little one's yellow scarf and awesome pants. Where did you get those?!? They look so comfortable and fun! Maybe I need to learn how to sew...

Well, I found your blog through Moriah Makes. Your guest post caught my eye cause you were talking about boy fashion and I try my hand at it sometimes. :) I really don't have much money to throw at it, but i get so bored with the regular sloppy boy clothes so it makes me happy to change little things here and there. Good to see I'm not alone.

Hannah, thank you! His scarf is just a plain $2 yellow hanky rolled up! and his pants are a super clearance buy from an online store called "opening ceremony." I actually failed attempting to sew them myself and when I found them (a year later) on clearance I couldn't resist! Hopefully you have better luck trying to recreate them!

I am so happy you found us!
