bonding over bottles...

I have to say, I am a little offended by how easily Wrennyn is taking his new comotomo bottles. When we first tried the transition to a bottle (the week before I went back to work) we started him with medela brand bottles that came along with my pump. He hated them and screamed bloody murder when we tried to get him to take them. He would flail and push away any time they came near him. We knew this wasn't going to work. Andy couldn't struggle to feed him every night I was away. We had to try something new **enter in** our comotomo bottles. As soon as I opened them and examined them I knew they were more realistic feeling. I was hoping Wrennyn had the same opinion! When the next time came to feed him he had absolutely no hesitation about taking them. He reached for the bottle and didn't even act like I existed anymore. He didn't even push away or turn his head once. I was shocked at how naturally he took them after days of panicking every time a bottle was near him. It was such a relief!

Not only are they amazing looking, but the shape and feel of them is incredible. The entire bottle is soft and has a natural reflux when he sucks. These are brilliant! My husband often comments about how amazing they are - how old are we talking about bottles instead of something hip like American Idol? Yep, we are those parents, baby products are our world now. Amused by genius design of bottles, we are officially our parents. But let me tell you, if you have ever put off the transition from nursing to a bottle like me you would understand how crucial it is that your baby likes what he is offered. It is stressful to get your baby fed when you have other kids to take care of so anything that makes life easier is always welcomed. So we will brag away about our new discovery...

I am still nursing when I am home with him, but it is beautiful to see the sweet little moments that are shared in our home when the boys or daddy can take turns feeding him. We are so lucky that we are able to take the time to have someone personally feeding him and make eye contact and bond. It is a huge time of when relationships are formed. I just love Wrennyn's sweet little hands reaching for the hands holding the bottle or his little legs thrown over his brother's, it is so sweet to me to see them care for him.  They are so tender and gentle with him. You can see it in Wrennyn's eyes he doesn't take them off of whoever is feeding him. It is so pure and sweet. It is love!

Although, I love when I get to step in and have these moments when I am home I absolutely adore the way he is bonding in a new way with the other boys and his daddy at feeding time! I was even home the other day and we didn't want my pumped milk to spoil so we decided to use it and Andy was pretty flattered that he had to prepare the bottle since I have never made one up. How silly is that I have 3 kids and have never in my life prepared a bottle haha I feel like I should make daddy take care of the feedings more often! I just love that switching between nursing and using bottles while I am away isn't frustrating for Wrennyn or Andy, it is such a blessing!

bottles were gifted by comotomo but all opinions are my own and are honest

"Offended" LOL!! you made me laugh, but I totally understand where you're coming from. The Medela bottles don't work for my little guy either so we just use them for milk storage in the fridge. He goes back and forth between bottles and nursing, although I use a nipple shield due to his "biting". Those bottles look really cool! It's so hard to find bottles that work for your baby and when you do it's a blessing.

Ahhhh! Thankfully neither of my other boys were biters! Praying W isn't either! You're brave for dealing with that!

And yes we used playtex bottles with the bags and "soft" nipple before with the othr 2 and they don't even come close to these!!! xx

These diapers are SUPER absorbent. We've changed more than one leak from expensive diapers and most of them were all from 'weird angle!' accidents and the diapers were barely wet. With honest diapers you go to change the diaper and it's as heavy as a softball and you're just flabbergasted. They pull everything away from his skin, and are simply wonderful.
